The meeting was called to order by President Mike Levey with nine clubs present. • New Haven was absent. President Mike Levey recognized new members from Rocky Run at the meeting The secretary’s minutes were read and approved AWSC: John Brozek John recommended that with the snow, Clubs should get Trail passes ordered shortly after they are received from members. Trail passes take about 48 business hours to turn over. Previously registered members took less time to process. Fines for non-compliance with trail passes are $200.50 SNARS (Snowmobile, Automated Reporting System) report: The 2016-2017 season is still being considered an educational year and using the program will not be mandatory but strongly encouraged. It is required that all clubs log into the program and set up club information to get used to using it. There are three levels of reporting, club member, club administrator and county administrator. Club administrators may need to allow for some time to set up information. Information required includes: 1. Club members and club administrators 2. Horse power from groomer (Following description from the AWSC notes) a. When you start recording equipment and labor rates for non-grooming, when using a power unit you must record the hour meter time. If you don’t have one on your tractor, it is recommended to get one. When you look at the sheets, be aware of the categories on top. – AAA (power units with tracks over 150 hp) AA 106 – 149hp, and A minimum of 105 hp. Engine power, not PTO power. Will eventually be split between power unit and power drag 3. Size of drag (i.e width) Club administrators can assign club members a number to enter information into the SNARS system. DNR is trying to get a multi county training session to provide instruction on how to use SNARS. There are still some trails that are not numbered in multiple counties. Clubs are encouraged to watch and make sure that numbered trails reported are in the right county The AWSC has move to a new space. They are now located on the first floor of the building in Suite 100. The Veterans ride is scheduled from Jan 15th and 16th. The ride is limited to 65 Veterans. The HS Safety Poster contest is listed on the AWSC website. American Income Life has sent out information to registered club members. Members should watch for this in the mail. Scholarships are due by Jan 11th, 2017. There is a special scholarship available from the Morris Nelson memorial fund. There was a recommendation for riders not to purchase trail passes for other non-members. The DNR has been checking, verifying, and returning your check. The Blue Mound State Park petition comment period has come to an end. However there is still no word on the when the new comment period will begin. Gary Tupper reported that Olson and Ripp are still moving forward with plans for transition of a railroad bridge over the WI River. DOT is maintaining ownership at current until more plans are made. Grooming contract is in from Yellow Thunder. Still need Rio grooming contract. Woody has updated county insurance contract for the county trail systems. Old Business: There was short meeting with discussion regarding Hwy 90/94. There was nothing new to report. Reminders out that parts of the Columbia County Trail will be closed for the holiday hunt this season. These include portions of the trail from Cty Rd G to Hwy 22, Phelps to The Northstar, and from Cambria to Pardeeville. There are portions of snowmobile trails that run through portions of the City of Columbus. Reminder to keep speed to 10mph and to keep noise levels down through these residential areas. New Business: Winnebego Ridge Runners would like to thank County Club members for their support and purchases during the holiday nut sale. A motion was made and approved to purchase a plaque for Donna White at the memorial park. Steve is drafting verbiage to take to the January meeting. Raffle tickets were sold at the December meeting for AWSC tickets and Blizzard Bash. 2017 calendars are available to take back to clubs. Donated Food Pantry items from the County Christmas Party will be divided for delivery to Columbus/Fall River Food Pantry and Portage Food Pantry. Woody and Gary will provide delivery. A left over hospitality room basket was raffled at the club Christmas party. A decision was made by the CCASC to purchase an AWSC raffle ticket with the money from the basket raffle.
